Kiyoshi Yamamoto
Kiyoshi Yamamoto lives and works in Bergen. Yamamoto received his Master’s degree in art at Bergen Academy of Fine Arts in 2013 and has studied at the London College of Fashion and Escala de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro. Yamamoto has for many years been greatly inspired and influenced by the artist and textile designer Anni Albers, by her thoughts, ideas, art, life and position in art history. Albers used the textile industry and was able to produce large and multiple works based on the same visual and tactile idiom. This has influenced Yamamoto’s way of working, and he sees no contradiction in the fact that something industrial can also be unique and pure art.
