Julia Chamberlain   

Julia Chamberlain was an Artist in Residence for 6 weeks in November and December 2014.  She came to S12 as a part of the cooperation between S12 and The Pilchuck Glass School, where she was selected their top ranking student in 2014.

Julia Chamberlain is a multimedia artist who explores ideas surrounding touch, human computer interaction, and light in her work. She is interested in the physical qualities of light through glass and the interaction between humans, technological artifacts, and society.

Chamberlain received her BFA from the University of Washington in 2015. In 2014, she won the Outstanding Student in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center. Her work has been featured in Sculpture Magazine, New Glass Review, and Columns Magazine. She has shown locally at King Street Station and The Factory, and was a part of the Young & Loving exhibition at S12, in 2015.

Currently, Chamberlain has a neon public art installation entitled Cranes on display in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, WA. In 2016 she was an Emerging Artist in Residence at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA.
