“…We have an innate capacity for remembering and imagining places. Perception, memory and imagination are in constant interaction; the domain of presence fuses into images of memory and fantasy. We keep constructing an immense city of evocation and remembrance, and all the cities we have visited are precincts in this metropolis of the mind…”  Juhani Pallasmaa

Krzemińska mainly works with kiln formed glass. She insightfully looks at places, the surrounding reality, in her mind she draws vignettes from nature, snapshots from history, to reflect the mood, ambience and shapes of sceneries memorized.  She uses glass as the dermis to find the process of the emergence of form. She experiments and observes the behavior of glass during its shaping. Involving air and the gravity process, objects arise to reveal the subtleties of memorized places and events, in their details encouraging reflection and musings.

During her residency at S12 Krzemińska has continued her search within the glass deformation techniques; to research the possibilities offered by the particular glass medium that a sheet of glass as a plane constitutes; to explore and make innovative forms through bending glass within the gravitational technique. She aims to observe stages of deformation that glass undergoes, to draw conclusions in order to use this new dimension of the deformation of a surface in her artistic projects. The creative process will be more important than the outcome during this residency.
