Élodie Michaud
Michaud has studied fine arts and later specialized in glassblowing at CERFAV (2014-2016). Following this, she has worked in studios in France, Switzerland, and Norway. Throughout these experiences, she has worked with various technicians and artists, assisting them in production processes, aesthetic choices, and artistic expression.
Michaud’s focus is on details, subtle experiences, and striking impressions. The aesthetics of her work are dense, characterized by strongly contrasting colors and materials, along with rhythms from repetitive movements and forms. She draws inspiration from the infinity of the cosmos and emotions that, for her, are intricately woven: regulated by rational laws yet completely beyond our total understanding. These become palettes of colors and movements that she employs in her sculptures and drawings. Her work encompasses both art and functional objects.
At S12, Michaud produced a series of small spheres that she uses to build new structures. She also worked on blown objects where painterly qualities manifest on the surface.
