Max Syron
Maria Bang Espersen and Max Syron, came to S12 at the beginning of 2015, for their joint 5 weeks residency. Their goal was to explore durational work/sculptural actions based on the concept of the absurd.
Their stay and the works they produced were very experimental in nature, coloured by their combined approach constantly moving between the creative process, performance and an exhibition. They presented objects created in the workshop, in the exhibition space almost immediately after their creation. Arranged performances and presentations. Thus , the gallery space changed constantly for the period of their residency, with actions or installations changing every 3-7 days. All this continuously presented on social media. The
Their residency project was called Process is an exhibition and it culminated in the exhibition re_cover in S12.
Maria completed her MFA from the California Institute of the arts in 2017, and Max completed his MFA from the same institution ain 2018.
