Artist Talk – Kati Kerstna
Kati Kerstna works with glass, lights and mixed media and represents the voice of environmentalism among Estonian glass artists. She directly dedicates her works to topics such as pollution, deforestation, and global warming. Since graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2001, Kerstna has been featured in over 70 international exhibitions, both as an artist and curator. Kerstna also organizes the Hot Glass Symposium in Haapsalu – an internationally recognized art event – along with Kai Koppel and Kairi Orgussaar. Additionally, she has extensive experience in building wood-fired glass furnaces, based on historical examples.
On Saturday, February 10th, at 14:00, there will be an artist talk with Kati Kerstna where she will present her own work, and talk about the Estonian glass art scene.
Kerstna is currently our artist in residence, and will open her exhibition “Values,” in our gallery February 9th at 19:00.
