Kati Kerstna

Kati Kerstna works with glass, lights and mixed media and represents the voice of environmentalism among Estonian glass artists. She directly dedicates her works to topics such as pollution, deforestation, and global warming. Since graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2001, Kerstna has been featured in over 70 international exhibitions, both as an artist and curator. Kerstna also organizes the Hot Glass Symposium in Haapsalu – an internationally recognized art event – along with Kai Koppel and Kairi Orgussaar.

As an artist in residence at S12, she developed new pieces for an upcoming exhibition. Plaster molds shaped like petals were filled with recycled glass before being cast in the kiln. Kerstna also held an artist talk, where she presented her own work, in addition to providing insight into the Estonian glass field.
