HILDE BETTEN PEDERSEN

Hilde Betten Pedersen challenges the often smooth and clean Scandinavian glass aesthetics and style. Her small figurines, often cartoon like and including found objects, tell their own story and often referring to each other.

Pedersen uses a variety of technics in her work and moves freely between blowing, fusing, casting and flame working often in a combination with other material like metal and plastic. She completed her education at the Bornholm School of Glass and Ceramics in 2009 and has since then has close ties to S12. In 2011 she was an assistant to the brothers De la Torre during their work and exhibition at S12. The same year she attended Eddie Bernard course “Glass and Kinetic Ideas from Nature” at the Pilchuck Glass School.
