TV Dinner
TV Dinner by Noah Hartley
TV Dinner, is Noah Hartley’s first solo exhibition, showcasing work created during his recent artist residency at S12. Hartley is an emerging Australian glassblower and artist, currently living and working in Bergen. In October, he’s had the opportunity to immerse himself in his own artistic practice, and now we’re excited to share the results.
Hartley’s work draws inspiration from everyday interactions, exploring material, form, and color in glass. His pieces examine how the interaction of form and color can influence our perception of objects, inviting viewers to consider the act of observing and take notice of things perhaps overlooked or unexpected.
During his residency, Hartley was influenced by color field paintings, funk ceramics, and—perhaps unexpectedly—“particularly good rocks,” resulting in a series of intimately scaled sculptures.
Noah Hartley holds a Bachelor of Design Arts from the Australian National University and completed the Associate Training Program at JamFactory in 2020. He has also studied at Pilchuck Glass School and the Corning Museum of Glass in North America. Hartley is currently the Studio Manager at S12 Gallery and Workshop.
