Jessie Blackmer (US) has just joined the team in S12 as a Workshop Manager and assistant to the Artists in Residence. Jessie Blackmer is an artist who has been working in glass since 1999. She received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 2004 and her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2011. She has been a recipient of a Jon and Mary Shirley Scholarship, Artist in Residence at Wheaton Village, and Pilchuck Emerging Artist in Residence. She has also been a teaching assistant at Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Penland School of Crafts. Her work examines natural phenomena through an autobiographical lens while paying particular attention to disease states.
S12 Is looking for a Workshop Manager to join its team for a minimum of one year, starting May/June 2018.
Established in 2007, S12 is the only centre for exploration, experimentation and dissemination of contemporary glass art in Norway.
The main focus of S12’s activities is characterized by artistic quality, exploration and experimentation in its approach to glass. The candidate will be joining a small team of professionals where everyone has the opportunity to initiate new projects and participate in the development of S12.
